What are "Dry" Oils?
Most of our products are oil based but not with just any oil. You
might not realize it but, oils are classified under 2 categories:
Dry or Wet. Examples of Wet Oils include Coconut, Castor and
Olive Oil as they are comedogenic, meaning they hang out on
the surface of the skin and clog pores - typically resulting in
breakouts. Dry oils, on the other hand, have smaller molecules
then their wet counterparts, allowing them to absorb into the
lower layers of the skin to deeply hydrate. This allows your skin
to retain moisture.
But What if I Have Oily Skin??
The reason skin gets oily to begin with is actually due to a LACK
of moisture. It sounds counterintuitive but, oil combats
oil. Meaning, when you use dry oils on your face, it helps your
skin retain the moisture it’s fighting to create by over producing
our skin’s oil - sebum. Therefore, using our products will help
keep your skin from getting oily!
