(Hopefully) Wildfire "season" is behind us all for the year but I wanted to share with you ways in which you can deal with poor air quality, both in your home and in your skincare routine regardless of what's happening outside.
#1. Purify the Air in your home NOW

Snake plants are some of the best plants to have in your home because of their air purifying abilities. They absorb toxins through their leaves, while producing pure oxygen.
"One of the top air purifying plants identified by NASA"*, Sansevieria (snake plant) removes at least 107 known air pollutants, including Carbon Monoxide - which is present in wildfire smoke.

#2. Relieve irritated sinuses + stress

Hanging fresh or dried Eucalyptus in your shower is a super inexpensive way to help alleviate irritated sinuses. And idk about you, but this smoke has my sinuses all kinds of messed up.
Steam from your shower helps activate and release eucalyptus oil compounds into the air, allowing you to breathe them in.
Breathing eucalyptus helps calm your sinuses, clear congestion and, my favorite, helps promote relaxation. Which we could all benefit from!

#3. Defend against collagen damage
Did you know smoke damages collagen?! 🤯
The best way to prevent this is complete avoidance from smoke. But for many of us, that's nearly impossible right now. Even if we don't go outside, there's still smoke inside our homes.
To help protect against smoke damage to your skin, you'll want to make sure you're using an Antioxidant rich moisturizer both morning + night to combat free radicals in the air.
And it doesn't have to be our Antioxidant Face Oil. Just make sure you're using something chock full of antioxidants because they are what fight off free radicals.
